SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball has announced the addition of guard Amare Larane to the Redhawks’ men's basketball roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

“We’re excited to welcome Amare to Seattle,” said head coach Chris Victor. “He’s an elite athlete and a proven winner. He can get to the rim at will, has great range and his competitiveness makes him a great fit for our program.”

Larane, a 6-foot-3 guard from Palmdale, Calif., arrives after a decorated high school career at Knight High School. He leaves as the program’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing nine-time NBA All-Star Paul George, and helped establish one of the most successful eras in school history.

During his senior season in 2025-26, Larane averaged 27.1 points per game, shooting at a 54% clip. He added 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game for the Knight Hawks.

In 2024-25, Larane led Knight HS to its first CIF Southern Section championship, earning CIF Division 3-AA Player of the Year honors along with the John Wooden Division 3 Award. He was also named Golden League MVP in back-to-back seasons and was a four-time Golden League champion, including three undefeated league campaigns.

Larane led the Knight Hawks to 89 wins over his four-year career, highlighted by a 26-6 overall record and a perfect 14-0 league mark in 2024-25. The program also posted a 22-4 (14-0) record in 2025-26, 23-6 (14-0) in 2023–24 and 18-8 (13-1) in 2022-23, showcasing sustained success throughout his tenure.
