SAN MATEO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference men's golf end-of-season awards were announced today, with two Redhawks earning a nod due to their impressive performance in the WCC Championship.
Freshman Jacob Kang and junior Kevin Li were both named WCC Men's Golf All-Conference Team Honorable Mention, due to their top-10 individual finishes in the WCC Championship that took place last week.
Kang put up the best performance of his career, coming in third place with a career-best round of -4 under, 67 with six birdies to shoot -6 under, 210. This concluded a solid debut season for Kang, whose performances only got stronger as the season continued, earning his first top-10 finish in February when he came in eighth at the Bill Cullum Invitational and was the Redhawks' best finisher when he placed top-15 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate later that month.
While this is Li's first WCC honor, he was quite decorated in Seattle U's time in the Western Athletic Conference, being named to the All-WAC First Team in both his freshman and sophomore seasons, as well as being the WAC Individual Champion and earning Freshman of the Year in 2024. He has also earned WAC Golfer of the Month twice in 2025. While he didn't claim the title in this year's conference championship, he still finished a respectable seventh, including a comeback third round of -3 under, 68 with six birdies and an eagle that propelled him from 18th place to his final position in the top 10. This rounds out an accomplished season from Li, where he earned three top five individual finishes, including an individual title at The Watney.
