MORAGA, CA - Seattle U baseball knocked off Saint Mary's, 5-4, in game three of their series on Sunday.
“Great team win today to take a road series," Head Coach Donny Harrel said. "Very proud of the response to losing Friday night and coming back with wins when we needed them.”
The Redhawk offense made their opportunities count, scoring all five of their runs in the 2nd and 5th innings. Royce Hale launched a solo home run to get the bats started in the 2nd and Jared Stevenson followed that up with a 2-RBI double. Trailing 3-4 heading into the 5th, Jake Beauchaine would put SU back in front with a 2-RBI single.

On the mound, Micah Hagler (3-5) was credited with the win after going six innings while allowing four earned runs. Blake Smith earned his second save of the season after throwing three shutout innings while giving up just one hit.
"Hagler kept us in it until we were able to take the lead," Harrel added. "Smith was as good as I’ve ever seen him and completely held their offense in check the last three innings."
The victory moves the Redhawks to 16-25 on the season and to 11-10 in conference play. They also secured their fifth conference series win.
