MORAGA, CA - Seattle U baseball rallied from a 7-run deficit to knock off Saint Mary's, 8-7, in game two of their series on Saturday.
The Redhawks found themselves in a 7-run hole through five innings of play before a 3-run home run by Tyler Horner finally got them on the board. From there Seattle U scored another five unanswered runs, highlighted by a go-ahead 2-run home run from Tyler Jackson in the 7th. It was the first collegiate home run for the freshman out of Las Vegas.
Despite the comeback, the Gaels had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th with a runner at 3rd with only on out. They would then fly out to Jared Stevenson in center field, who would proceed to throw a laser home to get the runner trying to tag on the play for the 8-2 game-ending double play.

The offensive rally would not have been possible without a strong relief appearance from Luke Alwood (2-3) on the mound. The righty tossed 4.2 scoreless innings and struck out two Gaels to secure his second win of the season.
The victory snaps a 6-game skid for the Redhawks and moves them to 15-25 on the season. They also are back to .500 in WCC play, now sitting at 10-10. They will look to win their fifth conference series in tomorrow's rubber match, with first pitch scheduled for 12:05pm.
