MORAGA, CA - Seattle U baseball dropped their series opener with Saint Mary's, 1-11, in 8 innings on Friday.
The game was tied for the first 6 1/2 innings thanks to a leadoff home run by Payton Knowles in the top of 1st, and a rebuttal run from the Gaels in the bottom half. The home side would go on to score eight runs in the bottom of the 7th before walking it off in the 8th on the 10-run rule.
Travis Farrell (2-6) was credited with the loss after going 6.1 innings while giving up six earned on 11 hits.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 14-25 overall and to 9-10 in conference play. They will look to bounce back in game two tomorrow, with Kale Hammer scheduled to make the start. First pitch from Moraga is scheduled for 4:05pm.
