SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball has announced the addition of center Halvine Dzellat to the Redhawks’ roster for the 2026-27 season.
“Halvine brings terrific size and skill to our frontcourt,” said head coach Chris Victor. “His international experience with the French National Team, along with his time at Cincinnati, has helped prepare him to make an immediate impact for us.”
Dzellat, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from Blois, France, joins the Redhawks after two seasons at Cincinnati.
As a sophomore in 2025-26, Dzellat appeared in 26 games off the bench, averaging 2.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 55.3 percent from the field. He scored a career-high 11 points with four rebounds against NJIT and grabbed a career-best six rebounds against Lipscomb. He also contributed six points against Houston and UCF.
During his freshman campaign in 2024-25, Dzellat saw action in 10 games and gained valuable experience against high-level competition.
Before arriving in the United States, Dzellat served as captain of France’s U20 National Team, helping lead his country to a gold medal at the FIBA U20 European Championship. He averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds across seven games during the tournament. He also represented France at the U19 level.
At the club level, Dzellat played for Lille Métropole Basket Clubs in France’s Pro B league, the country’s second division. Competing against seasoned professionals, he averaged 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as one of the youngest players on the roster.
