SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball has announced the signing of guard Kaden Hansen to the men's basketball roster for the 2026–27 season.
“We’re excited to add Kaden to our program,” said head coach Chris Victor. “He’s an explosive scorer and playmaker who is coming off an outstanding season where he proved he can take over games. His ability to score, combined with this competitiveness, will translate well to our program.”
Hansen joins the Redhawks following a standout 2025-26 season at Saint Martin's University where he emerged as one of the top players in NCAA Division II. As a redshirt sophomore, he averaged 18.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from three-point range and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line. He knocked down 77 three-pointers on the year and scored 20 or more points in 15 games.
Hansen posted a career-high 37 points against Western Washington on Jan. 15 and earned multiple postseason honors, including NABC Division II All-District First Team and D2CCA All-West Region First Team recognition. He was also named GNAC Player of the Year – just the second player in program history to earn the honor – while collecting First Team All-GNAC accolades.
His individual success helped lead Saint Martin’s to a historic season, as the Saints finished 26-6 overall, tying the program record for most Division II wins in a single season. The team captured both the GNAC regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the second round of the NCAA West Regionals.
Hansen began his collegiate career in 2023-24, appearing in 17 games with six starts and averaging 7.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest.
A native of Auburn, Wash., Hansen prepped at Auburn High School, where he was teammates with recent Redhawk alum Maleek Arington and helped lead the squad to the 3A state championship during the 2021-22 season. Hansen’s honors at Auburn High School included being named NPSL MVP his junior season and First Team All-NPSL as a senior.
