SAN DIEGO, CA - Seattle U baseball dropped their series finale with San Diego, 12-13, Sunday afternoon. The Redhawks took a 2-run lead into the bottom of the 9th, but a Torero rally denied the series sweep.

“Baseball surely can break your heart," Head Coach Donny Harrel said. “Crazy ending. 1 out away with no one on and lose on a walk-off.

The Redhawk offense continue to impress in game three of the series, scoring 12 runs on 17 hits. Once again, it was Payton Knowles who was the catalyst, going 4-for-5 with three RBI. Royce Hale also drove in three runs, while Tyler Horner and Ryder Manale both drove in a pair.

Very proud of our offense today chipping away after being down and getting us the lead with an opportunity to win," Harrell added. "They scored in 13 of the last 15 innings over the past two days, so very impressive.

Seattle U pitching couldn’t hold off an equally explosive San Diego offense, especially with four errors coming from the field. Isaac Hallam (1-3) was credited with the loss after tossing 2.2 innings while allowing three earned.

"Our four errors hurt us, especially in the middle innings, so need to get that cleaned back up," said Harrel. "Still very proud of going on the road and winning another conference series.”

The loss denies the Redhawks the series sweep, but they still secured their fourth WCC series. They dropped to 14-20 on the season and to 9-6 in conference.
