BELLEVUE, WA - Seattle U baseball took the opener in their 3-game series with Loyola Marymount, 5-4, Friday afternoon at Bannerwood Park. The Redhawks rode another quality start by Travis Farrell while the offense produced timely hitting to take game one.
Farrell, the reigning WCC Pitcher of the Week, continued his strong recent form as he went seven innings while allowing two earned and striking out seven. It was Blake Smith (2-0) who would get the win on the mound however, tossing the final two innings while not allowing a run.
Ryder Manale got the offense going in the bottom of the 4th when he hit his first collegiate home run, a 2-run shot to right field. Royce Hale ripped an RBI single in the 7th, while Payton Knowles would drive in the eventual game-winning run in the 8th.
