SEATTLE, WA - Behind a standout performance from Sebastian Lopez, Seattle U baseball knocked off Jackson State, 6-4, Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park in downtown Seattle.
The Redhawks jumped out to a quick lead when Lopez hit a sacrifice fly to left with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 1st, plating Payton Knowles. After the Tigers responded with a run of their own in the 2nd, Lopez would once again put SU in front with an RBI double down the left field line in the 4th.
The redshirt junior would cap off a stellar day at the park when he smacked a solo home run over the left field wall in the 5th, finishing his day 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Hey @Mariners, you might want to make one more addition to your Opening Day roster.

Not to be outshined, Micah Hagler's (1-2) start on the mound was also outstanding. The righty went seven strong innings while only allowing two earned on four hits on his way to his first win of the year. Blake Smith would slam the door shut on Jackson State, striking out the side in the 9th to pick up his first save of 2026.
The victory moves the Redhawks to 3-12 on the year as they avoid the series sweep vs the Tigers. Sunday's game was also the conclusion of the 2nd annual HBCU Seattle Series, as the Redhawks are now 1-1 in the now yearly event.
Next up for Seattle U will be a return to Montlake as they face Washington for the second time this season on Tuesday, March 10.
