BELLEVUE, WA - Seattle U dropped their series opener with Jackson State, 1-5, Friday night at Bannerwood Park. After the Tigers jumped out to a quick 3-run lead, the Redhawks couldn't dig their way out as the open the HBCU Seattle Series with a loss.
The lone Redhawk run came in the 3rd when Jared Stevenson put the ball in play, allowing Hayden Carlson to score. In total SU was held to just three hits and seven total base runners.
Travis Farrell (0-3) was credited with the loss after allowing four earned on seven hits through five innings.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 2-11 on the season and to 1-4 in home games. They will look to even the series with Jackson State tomorrow, March 7, in game two. Kale Hammer is scheduled to make the start with a 2:00pm PT first pitch at Bannerwood.
