SEATTLE - Seattle University softball (11-10) makes its official debut at home hosting Montana (4-11) for a four game series at Logan Field starting Friday, March 6 at 5:00 PM and concluding Sunday, March 8. All four games will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Redhawks capped off their tournament slate 11-9 before returning to the greater Seattle area to battle cross-town rival Washington on Tuesday evening. They remain in Seattle the next two weekends for their first contests at home in 2026.

Senior Taylor Fitch leads the Redhawks with a .435 batting average, logging 27 hits in 62 at bats. Fitch ranks second in the conference with nine home runs, runs scored with 24 and RBI with 30. Her nine homers and 30 RBI ranks tied-16th in the nation.

Junior Avari Morris leads the team and ranks second in the WCC with 31 hits and 24 runs. She holds a .425 batting average on the year through 73 at bats. The dual threat has pitched 34.1 innings while collecting the conference’s fourth most strikeouts of the season with 32.

Senior Ava Sin is the third Redhawk that ranks top-10 in the conference in batting average. She’s batting .397, recording 23 hits in 58 at bats. Junior Karen Spadafora and graduate Jay Ross rank in the top-25 in the league in batting, with Spadafora posting a .311 batting average through 61 at bats. Ross has 19 hits in 65 at bats.

Leading from the circle alongside Morris is junior Berkley Vance. Vance paces the team and ranks fifth in the conference in innings pitched with 48.2. She matches Morris with 32 strikeouts this season. 

Spadafora aids the offense with 95 putouts this season, a mark that ranks third in the conference. Ross has 64 between first and second base, while Fitch ranks fourth in the league in assists with 39.

The Redhawks pace the conference and rank tied-28th in the nation with 186 hits this season. Their 143 runs also ranks first in the WCC and tied-38th in the country. SU combines for a .321 batting average after 21 games and lead the league in RBI with 137. The Redhawks are 29th in the nation in runs batted in.

Defensively, the Redhawks have handed out a conference leading 101 strikeouts, averaging 5.21 strikeouts per seven innings.

Seattle U and Montana have met 14 times in program history, the last meeting a three game series in 2023. The Redhawks lead the all-time series record 9-6, including all three of the last games in Seattle.

The series opens on Friday, March 6 at 5:00 PM leading into a doubleheader on Saturday, March 7 starting at 2:00 PM. Game four is slated for noon on Sunday, March 8. All games will be streamed on ESPN+. Entry to all SU home games is free.
