SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Seattle U baseball dropped their series opener with San Francisco, 4-8, Friday afternoon. A Royce Hale grand slam tied the game in the 4th, but the Redhawks were held scoreless after in the defeat.
All runs for Seattle U came off the bat of Hale in the 4th, launching his first home run of the season and his first collegiate grand slam. Outside of the 4th inning, the Redhawks were held to two hits and zero runs.

Travis Farrell (0-4) was credited with the loss after tossing 5.1 IP and allowing six earned on 10 hits. Jake Morell and Blake Smith made appearances out of the pen, both allowing a single earned run.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 6-15 overall and to 2-2 in conference play this season. They will look to even the series with the Dons in game two tomorrow, March 28. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm PT with Kale Hammer scheduled to make the start.
