SEATTLE - Seattle University women’s rowing heads down to Oregon to face a field of its new conference mates for the Oregon State Invite on Saturday morning at Dexter Reservoir.
The Redhawks take on Gonzaga, Portland, Santa Clara and host Oregon State, meeting Portland for the second time this season.
Seattle U made its season debut on March 14 at the Puget Sound Invite on American Lake, racing against Puget Sound and Portland. The Redhawks saw improvement from their varsity four against a similar field building from a season ago.
The Oregon State Invite will boast the largest WCC field for the Redhawks prior to the WCC Championships in early May, where they will face off with all nine of their conference counterparts in California. Host Oregon State was voted the preseason favorite for the second straight year, while Gonzaga was elected second with one first place vote.
Following Saturday’s race, the Redhawks return in April for the Portland Invite at Vancouver Lake.
