SEATTLE - Despite an early 4-0 deficit in doubles against Santa Clara, pair Lamija Avdic and Natalia Michta stayed focused and surged to victory, going on a 6-0 streak to win their match 6-4. Their heroics, paired with Daria Nazarenko and Amina Avdic's convincing 6-3 win in their match, secured the doubles point for the Redhawks in their first West Coast Conference duel.

Despite the strong start in doubles, the Redhawks failed to secure another point, eventually falling to the Broncos 6-1. Sisters Lamija and Amina Avdic both gave their competitors a good fight, with Amina taking her opponent to three sets and barely losing 10-8 in the third round, for a final score of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).

This was Seattle U's third match this week, following losses to Idaho and Montana State Wednesday and Thursday. The Avdic-Nazarenko duo are undefeated on that stretch, also defeating Idaho's top pair 6-1.

The Redhawks will continue conference play on March 29, when they travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to face Loyola Marymount.
