SEATTLE - The Seattle University women's tennis team is set to host the program's first West Coast Confere match this weekend, facing Santa Clara. The duel will take place Sunday, March 22 at the Mercer Island Country Club at 11:00 a.m.
This will be the third duel the Redhawks host this week, following matches against Idaho and Montana State Wednesday and Thursday. Across those matches, Lamija Avdic went undefeated, racking up two singles wins in the top pairing, defeating her opponent from Idaho 6-2,6-1 and Montana State's top player 6-3, 6-2. She also notched a doubles win with partner Natalia Michta against Idaho, 6-1. Michta also won a singles match against Montana State, 7-5, 6-2.
This is the Redhawks' second time ever facing the Broncos. The only previous matchup resulted in a 4-0 Santa Clara win in 2022.
