SEATTLE – Seattle University will not renew the contract of women’s basketball head coach Skyler Young for the 2026-27 season, Vice President for Athletics Shaney Fink announced Monday.
“We are grateful to Coach Young for his commitment to Seattle University and the care he has shown for our student athletes,” said Fink. “After evaluating the direction of our women’s basketball program, we believe this is the appropriate time to begin a new chapter and pursue the sustained competitive success we expect for Redhawk Athletics.”
Young will remain with the team through the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. A national search for the program’s next head coach will begin immediately.
In three seasons leading the Redhawks, Young has compiled a 15-73 overall record, including an 8-46 mark in conference play.
