BELLEVUE, WA - Seattle U baseball knocked off Holy Cross, 11-10, Saturday afternoon in walk off fashion. Tyler Horner was the extra inning hero as his single plated Payton Knowles in the 10th to send the Bannerwood crowd home happy.

The Redhawks jumped all over the Crusaders early, scoring five runs through the first three innings to take the 5-1 lead. The visitors would fight back with three of their own in the 5th to make it just a 1-run game heading into the final stretch.

After Hunter Komine scored on a Crusader error in the 5th, Seattle U would continue to add on in the 6th with a 4-run frame. Brandon Stinnett had a 2-run single, followed by a squeeze sacrifice bunt by Komine that scored Sebastian Lopez, before Knowles capped the inning off with an RBI single through the right side.

Once again, Holy Cross would not go away easily, fighting all the way back to tie the game in the 9th with a six spot. After SU couldn't find the winner in the bottom half, the two sides went to the 10th.

Ryan Stone (1-0) would get out of a jam in the top the 10th to put himself in position for his Redhawk win. Then the heroics of Knowles and Tyler Horner took over in the bottom to walk it off and even the series at a game apiece.

The victory moved Seattle U to 2-8 overall on the season and gave them their first home win on the new year. They can now look to take back control of the series in tomorrow’s game three, with a first pitch of 1:00pm scheduled at Bannerwood Park.
