REDHAWK HEADLINES:

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Crusaders. This will also be the first meeting for Seattle U vs any team hailing from the Patriot League.

2026 HOME OPENER
Friday’s game vs Holy Cross will be the home opener for Seattle U in 2026. The Redhawks are 9-7 in home openers dating back to 2010. Last season they defeated future conference foe Pacific, 10-9, at Bannerwood on Feb. 28.

NEW SEASON. NEW CONFERENCE.
2026 will mark the first season for Seattle U baseball in the West Coast Conference. The last 13 years were spent in the Western Athletic Conference where SU compiled a record of 148-177. The Redhawks captured the 2016 WAC Regular Season Championship behind a stellar season from Tarik Skubal (6-1, 2.11 ERA).

56th SEASON OF REDHAWK BASEBALL
This season will be the 56th in Seattle U baseball history, with the first official season coming in 1947. The program played from 1947-86 before baseball was folded at the university. Alongside Head Coach Donny Harrel, the Redhawks made their return in 2010 as an NCAA Division I independent.

SMITH CRACKS TOP 10
After earning the win in Tuesday’s game at Washington, Blake Smith moved into a tie for 10th all-time in program history for career wins at 11. The senior also ranks top 10 in starts and strikeouts.

NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
Josh Cunnigan has had a solid start to his sophomore campaign. The backstop leads the team in RBI with eight, eclipsing his total of five from his freshman year. His defense behind the dish has also been a boost, as he’s already caught six stealing.
