RIVERSIDE, CA - Seattle U baseball dropped game three of their series with California Baptist, 1-7, Saturday night at James W. Totman Stadium. After a pitcher’s dual in the first half of the game, the Redhawks tied it at one through the top of the 6th, but six unanswered runs from the Lancers ended the night.

“Good game gone bad as Hammer was outstanding for us in his start," Head Coach Donny Harrel said post-game. "The bullpen could not stop the running game, and they (CBU) got key two-out hits to break the game open."

Kale Hammer pitched a stellar game on the mound in his second start of the season. He would go 5.2 IP and allowed just one run while striking out six Lancers for the no-decision. Luke Alwood (0-1) would be credited with the loss after allowing four on six hits.

The lone run of the night for the Redhawks came off the bat of Josh Cunnigan, who launched his second career home run over the right field wall in the top of the 7th. Both of his collegiate home runs have now come vs the Lancers. He leads the team with four runs batted in on the early season, after having five RBI during his freshman campaign.

"Offense is still struggling to create runs," Harrel added. "We need to stay after it until we can all turn the corner.”

Seattle U will look to turn the corner in game four of their series with California Baptist, as they try to avoid the 4-game sweep and an 0-7 start to the season. Micah Hagler is scheduled to make his second start of the season in the finale, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00pm PT from Riverside.
