CHENEY, Wash. - The Seattle University women's tennis team secured its first duel win of the season this weekend, dispatching Lewis-Clark State College 5-2 for the program's 11th straight victory over the Warriors. The Redhawks also faced Eastern Washington this weekend, losing 7-0.
Lamija Avdic remained perfect in doubles, winning both of her matches with new partner Lola Tavcar. The tandem defeated Lewis-Clark State's top pair, 6-3, and Eastern Washington, 6-4.
Against Lewis-Clark State, pair Larissa Teramura and Daria Nazarenko also secured victory in their doubles match, 6-1. All four doubles competitors won their singles matches in straight sets. Avdic won 6-1, 6-2, Tavcar scored 7-5, 7-5, Teramura took the set 6-2, 6-1, and Nazarenko secured a 6-1, 7-6 victory.
Next, the Redhawks will travel to Las Vegas to face UNLV on March 6 and New Mexico State on March 7.
