SEATTLE – In partnership with Baseball Beyond Borders (BBB) and the Seattle Mariners, Seattle University baseball will host Jackson State for the second annual HBCU Seattle Series, March 6-8. The three-game series will culminate at T-Mobile Park on Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. PT.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our program and for Jackson State,” said Seattle U Head Coach Donny Harrel. “To compete in a series that celebrates HBCU baseball and to play the finale at T-Mobile Park, in partnership with the Mariners and Baseball Beyond Borders, is special. Events like this create visibility, opportunity and inspiration for young players of color who dream of playing this game at the highest level. We’re proud to help provide that platform here in Seattle.”

Games one and two will be played Friday and Saturday at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue before the teams take the field at T-Mobile Park for Sunday’s culminating matchup. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

“The HBCU Seattle Series centers visibility and access while honoring the excellence that has always lived within HBCU baseball and softball programs,” said BBB Founder and President Bookie Gates. “Bringing Jackson State to the Pacific Northwest creates a meaningful moment for our young people to see what is possible at every level of the game. Representation shapes belief. When youth from our communities see HBCU programs competing on a stage like T-Mobile Park, it expands what they can imagine for themselves. We’re grateful to help build that bridge between the Pacific Northwest and the rich legacy of HBCU athletics.”

The HBCU Seattle Series debuted last season when the Redhawks hosted Coppin State. The inaugural weekend featured live batting practice and a guided tour at T-Mobile Park, along with enhanced gameday experiences at Bannerwood Park, including special player entrances and community engagement activities.

The 2026 edition continues a shared commitment to expanding access, increasing exposure and creating meaningful opportunities within the game of baseball while honoring the rich tradition and legacy of HBCU programs.

"The Mariners are proud to host the HBCU Seattle Series on Sunday, March 8 at T-Mobile Park," said Trevor Gooby, Seattle Mariners Chief Operating Officer. "It was an honor to host the inaugural HBCU Swingman Classic as part of 2023 All-Star Week, and this series is continuation of that legacy and our ongoing commitment to empower baseball and softball athletes across our communities."

Tickets for the game at T-Mobile Park are on sale now at goseattleu.com/tickets. Those interested in group tickets can contact the Seattle U Athletics ticket office at seattleutickets@seattleu.edu or 206-398-GOSU. Additional information on the series and surrounding festivities will be announced soon.
