REDHAWK HEADLINES:
SERIES HISTORY
The Redhawks are 2-6 in the all-time series with CSUN. The two sides have not met since the 2015 season where the Matadors swept the Redhawks at Bannerwood Park. In their first ever meeting, SU took two during a 3-game series in Northridge in 2014.
SEASON OPENER
Seattle U will look to turn around their form in season openers as they come into 2026 with a 4-6 mark over the last 10 seasons. The Redhawks were swept in last year’s season opening series by future conference foe Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.
NEW SEASON. NEW CONFERENCE.
2026 will mark the first season for Seattle U baseball in the West Coast Conference. The last 13 years were spent in the Western Athletic Conference where SU compiled a record of 148-177. The Redhawks captured the 2016 WAC Regular Season Championship behind a stellar season from Tarik Skubal (6-1, 2.11 ERA).
56th SEASON OF REDHAWK BASEBALL
This season will be the 56th in Seattle U baseball history, with the first official season coming in 1947. The program played from 1947-86 before baseball was folded at the university. Alongside Head Coach Donny Harrel, the Redhawks made their return in 2010 as an NCAA Division I independent.
NEW LOOK REDHAWKS
The 2026 Redhawks will feature 18 new players to the program. Six true freshmen are joined by 12 incoming transfers to make up the new look squad. 15 players make their return from the 2025 team including outfielder Jared Stevenson who appeared in all 52 games last season.
LOSS OF OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION
Seattle U lost 78% of their run production from last season. Four of their top five in runs batted in, home runs, and runs scored did not return to the program in 2026. Jared Stevenson (.260, 27 RBI) and Hunter Komine (.231, 10 RBI) are the top offensive returners from last season.
LEANING ON THE ARMS
The Redhawks will look to lean on a strong pitching staff in 2026. Last year’s team pitching MVP Micah Hagler (4-3, 3.66) returners to take Sunday spot in the rotation, while Luke Alwood and Blake Smith also return as strong contributors. Transfers Camden Oram and Kale Hammer will start alongside Hagler in the rotation, with Oram getting the nod during the season opener.
