SEATTLE – Seattle University athletics kicked off the 2025-26 academic year with a strong showing in the classroom across all sports as the collective Redhawk student athlete population combined for a 3.49 grade point average.
This marks the sixth time in the last seven terms that the Redhawks have achieved a 3.4 or higher term GPA. This also marks the 17th consecutive term that the combined student athlete population has recorded above a 3.30 GPA.
Each of the Redhawks' 17 teams earned above a 3.2 GPA. Women's tennis led the way with a 3.78 team GPA. Women's soccer (3.69) and women's track & field (3.68) followed closly. Ten total teams finished above a 3.5. Along with the top three, the list also includes women's swimming (3.61), women's cross country (3.60), women's golf (3.59), women's basketball (3.59), softball (3.53), men's basketball (3.52) and rowing (3.51).
Baseball (3.42), men's golf (3.40), men's soccer (3.39), men's cross country (3.36), men's track & field (3.34), volleyball (3.26) and men's swimming (3.23) also all finished strong.
174 student athletes (60.21%) made the Dean's List (3.5+), while 75 made the President's List holding a 3.9 GPA or higher and 56 Redhawks earned a 4.0.
At the undergraduate level, student athletes significantly outperformed non-athlete students with a fall term GPA of 3.46 versus 3.35.
