SEATTLE - For the second time this season, Seattle University women’s basketball (5-13, 1-6 WCC) goes head to head against Santa Clara, welcoming the Broncos (16-5, 6-2 WCC) to the Redhawk Center at 6 PM on Thursday evening for International Night.

She ranks fifth in the WCC in three point percentage.

Santa Clara and Seattle U meet for the fourth time in program history on Thursday. The Broncos took the series edge 2-1 behind their win over SU in late December. The Redhawks are 1-0 at home against Santa Clara. SCU travels to Seattle for the first time since 2011.
Since the pair last met, the Broncos have moved to 6-2 in conference play, defeating Gonzaga, San Francisco, Washington State and Saint Mary’s since the turn of the new year. They have gone 3-1 on the road, falling only to LMU. Santa Clara improved to 8-2 in road games after recently defeating the Gaels last weekend in Moraga.
Thursday night’s game is a celebration of the vast community of international student-athletes, students, faculty/staff and residents of Seattle. The West Coast Conference boasts the largest percentage of international student-athletes of any Division I conference for a total of 71 international women’s basketball student-athletes, according to the league. The Redhawks have four athletes representing four countries on their roster. As part of International Night at the Redhawk Center, concessions will be serving its Currywurst Special for 6.99 with a house-made curried ketchup.
Following Thursday, the Redhawks remain at home through the weekend, hosting Saint Mary’s on Saturday, January 24 for Alumni Day. Seattle U will celebrate its alumni with a pre-game gathering at Legends Lounge an hour before tip-off and an in-game recognition.
