SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks will have two matches on back-to-back days this weekend, heading across the state to play Idaho and Washington State. First up will be a matchup with Idaho in Moscow, Idaho on February 15. The Redhawks will take on Washington State in Pullman, Washington on February 16.

This is the second week of dual matches for the Redhawks, who started spring with two matches in January. The Redhawks played Oregon and Long Beach State, each on the road in Eugene, Oregon, but took losses in both matches. Lamija Avdic earned a point against Long Beach State with a 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 1-0 (10-3) win in court one. Avdic and Lola Tavcar are undefeated in doubles play thus far in the early going of the spring season. Each of that pair's doubles matches have gone unfinished, with Avdic and Tavcar leading in the first set against both Oregon and Long Beach State.

Last year saw the Redhawks play Idaho in Seattle, a match the Redhawks won 5-2. Current Redhawks Avdic and Tavcar earned a doubles win, 6-3. In singles play, Avdic and Liliya Dimova each won points for the Redhawks, while Jade Quintana lost a close-fought match 4-6, 6-7. Avdic's singles win came in court two, winning 7-5 (2-0), 6-0. Dimova was playing in court three and won 6-7, 6-2 (2-0), 6-1. The Redhawks also played Idaho in a dual match in October 2022. Dimova was the only current Redhawk to appear and win in that 4-3 win, earning a singles win.

While the Redhawks have competed in Washington State's fall tournament on multiple occasions, the two teams have not faced in a dual match since 2020. Washington State won that match 7-0, though no current Redhawks appeared in that match.
