VANCOUVER, B.C. - Seattle U men's soccer forward Yeider Zuluaga was selected with the 59th overall pick in the 2026 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Thursday.
"I am very happy for Yeider on being drafted by the Whitecaps and this next chapter in his playing career," said Head Coach Nate Daligcon. "Yeider has grown tremendously over his four years at Seattle U, this is a well-deserved opportunity and excited to watch him as he begins his new journey with the Whitecaps."
The senior out of Cali, Columbia had a standout final season for the Redhawks, setting a new single-season career high with nine goals. He also added five assists for a team-leading 23 points on his way to a Second Team All-WCC selection.
In total he scored 17 goals and assisted on another 15 over his four years with the program. He was a three-time all-conference selection and helped lead Seattle U to two NCAA tournament appearances.
Zuluaga becomes the 11th Redhawk to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft and the third in the last five years. He is the first Seattle U player to be selected by the Whitecaps making it the sixth different franchise to select a Redhawk.
