SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Seattle U women's soccer closed out their 2025 season with a road victory, defeating San Diego, 3-1, Saturday afternoon in California.

Caroline Penner put a bow on her historic senior season by netting a brace on the afternoon, scoring in the 21st for the opener and then in the 49th on her first career penalty kick. That brought her season total to 17, the most in a single season by a Redhawk since Stephanie Verdoia scored 22 during the 2014 season. She also finishes her career with 37 goals, which has her alone in 5th for the most in program history.

U'i Kaaihue would also add an exclamation mark to her collegiate career, scoring the dagger in the 83rd from outside of the box. Her 17 goals and eight assists give her 42 points over her four seasons with the program.

Despite the Redhawks conceding one goal on the afternoon, the defense still shined in the match. They did not allow the Toreros to put a single shot on frame until the 81st minute.

The victory gave Seattle U their 10th of the season, wrapping up their record at 10-3-6. It is the 24th time in Head Coach Julie Woodward's 29-year tenure that the Redhawks recorded 10+ wins in a season, and it is the 26th winning season under Woodward's guidance.

The result also concludes the first season in the West Coast Conference, where SU posted a 6-3-2 record after being picked 9th in the preseason coaches poll. They finished tied with Gonzaga for 4th in the final standings, just five points off conference champions Pepperdine.
