SEATTLE - Seattle University women’s basketball (0-1, 0-0 WCC) kicks off a two-home game stretch at the Redhawk Center hosting Northwest (0-0, 0-0 CCC) for a Wednesday night clash at 6 PM.

The Redhawks host five games through the nonconference this season and look to bounce back after a quick turn around from Monday night’s meeting with Washington. They open their season with three games inside the Redhawk Center through their first five appearances for the 2025-26 campaign.

Leading the Redhawks from last year and into the new slate is redshirt senior Tamia Stricklin. The Renton native earned her 30th start against the Huskies on Monday evening and paced the team with 12 points on 6-11 shooting. Stricklin returned for her final season after her redshirt junior year where she averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals a game while shooting 32.1 percent from behind the arc. Her 34 triples ranked third on the team a season ago.

Assisting the Redhawks from behind the arc was graduate transfer Ella Brubaker, who netted two triples on 50 percent shooting against the Huskies. She ended the evening with eight points in her SU debut. Brubaker earned the start in her return to Washington state, having graduated from new WCC foe Pepperdine this past spring.

Sophomore Sydnie Rodriguez started in her 31st game as a Redhawk after earning a spot in the starting five in all 30 games in her first collegiate season. She was second on the team in rebounds against the Huskies, hauling in five. Junior Lucija Milkovic in her first year in the Red and White captured a career high four points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes of action.

All eleven Redhawks saw the floor on Monday night, with 80 percent of the roster netting points, including all three freshmen. Jana Vesic paced the group of newest Redhawks with six points, including a perfect four-for-four mark from the free throw line.

Seattle U and Northwest meet for the 17th time in program history dating back to 1987. The Redhawks lead the series 12-4, including a 9-1 mark on their home floor. The pair have not met since the 2021 season. Seattle U has claimed the last five meetings, including all three since returning to Division I in 2008.

The Redhawks have seen two program scoring records against Northwest since the series started in 1987. In their very first meeting, Seattle U downed NU 128-66, the most points scored ever by the program. The Redhawks eclipsed 100 points a second time against the Eagles back in 2020 after defeating Northwest 106-39. In that contest, the Redhawks connected for their DI record in made triples, netting 15 from behind the arc. They also dished out a program best 29 assists in the lopsided victory.

Following Wednesday’s game, the Redhawks remain at home through the weekend, hosting UC Santa Barbara in a rematch from a season ago. SU squares off with the Gauchos at the Redhawk Center on Sunday, November 9 at noon.
