SEATTLE - Seattle University women’s basketball (0-0, 0-0 WCC) embarks on its inaugural West Coast Conference season on Monday night, making its 2025-26 debut against cross-town rival Washington (0-0, 0-0 Big Ten) on November 3 at Alaska Airlines Arena at 5:00 PM.

A trio of Redhawks returned to First Hill following the 2024-25 campaign, with redshirt senior Tamia Stricklin leading the group entering her final collegiate season. Stricklin appeared and started in 29 contests, averaging 27.2 minutes a game, where she shot 32.1 percent from behind the arc to amass 257 points on the year. The Renton native averaged 8.9 points per game in her first year in Seattle.

Sophomore Sydnie Rodriguez made the most appearances of the returners, playing and starting all 30 games as a freshman. The Boise native scored the fifth most points of the 11-woman roster last season, recording 157 points in her collegiate debut while netting 29 triples. She averaged over 20 minutes a game and 5.6 points a contest.

Seattle native sophomore Lucy Larson returns for her second season in the Red and White, appearing in 23 games in 2024-25 where she averaged nine minutes a contest.

After graduating three last year, the Redhawks welcomed three veterans to the program with graduate student Andjela Bigovic (Tarleton State), senior Aaliyah Ibarra (Utah Tech) and graduate student Ella Brubaker (Pepperdine) joining the Redhawks over the summer.

Bigovic and Ibarra are familiar faces to the program, competing against the Redhawks as members of the Western Athletic Conference last year. Brubaker brings her leadership and familiarity with the West Coast Conference, the program’s new home as of July 1, 2025, after graduating from Pepperdine.

Also new by way of transfer are junior Lucija Milkovic and sophomore Fia Proctor. Milkovic spent two seasons at Missouri and Proctor returned to the 206 after spending her first season at Wyoming.

Three freshmen, Dylan Mogel, Jana Vesic and Chloe Emanga, prepare for their collegiate debuts tomorrow evening. Vesic and Emanga make up half of the international student athletes on the roster, journeying to Seattle from Serbia and Germany respectively. Milkovic (Croatia) and Bigovic (Montenegro) complete the quartet from overseas.

The Redhawks share a long history with Washington, with Monday night’s game marking the 28th meeting dating back to the start of the series in 1977. Seattle U trails the all-time series 3-24, collecting two of the three wins at home. The Redhawks last defeated the Huskies by three in 1981. Since returning to Division I in 2008, the Huskies lead 15-0, with the Redhawks pushing the Huskies to OT twice in that time span, most recently in 2017.

Seattle U prepares for its first season as the WCC’s newest member with the conference slate set for the end of December. The Redhawks embark on a 11-game non-conference schedule through the fall, hosting five games in the Redhawk Center. They make their home debut on Wednesday, November 3, welcoming Northwest to First Hill at 6 PM.
