SEATTLE – Seattle University continued its streak of academic excellence with a 94 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the most recent data released by the NCAA earlier this month, which is based on the students entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2015 through 2018.

Seattle U has tallied at least a 92 percent in every multi-year report since 2008.

Eight teams, including women's basketball, men's swimming, women's swimming, women's rowing, women's golf, women's soccer, women's tennis and softball each claimed perfect 100 percent scores for the multi-year cohort.

All 15 Redhawk programs on record surpassed the 80 percent threshold and 14 of those beat the federal average. Women's golf has perfect scores in 11 consecutive reports, while women's basketball, rowing and women's swimming are on a six-year streak at 100 percent.

GSR data indicates the number of student athletes earning a degree within six years. The NCAA developed the GSR to more accurately assess the academic success of student athletes. The GSR includes transfer students and student athletes who leave in good academic standing, unlike the federal rate, which does not count transfers. The GSR also accounts for mid-year enrollees and is calculated for every sport.
