SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball head coach Chris Victor has announced the signing of Jaden Bailes, a 6-2, 190-pound combo guard from JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jaden to the Seattle University basketball family,” said Victor. “He is a special young man who plays with passion, toughness, and a team-first mindset. His versatility on both ends of the floor and his commitment to growth are a great fit with our program. I can’t wait to see him make an immediate impact here in Seattle and continue to grow on and off the court.”

Bailes will join the Redhawks beginning with the 2026-27 season following a standout prep career at JSerra Catholic and St. Augustine High School in San Diego. While his senior season, and first at Jserra, is just about to begin, over the past three years he helped guide the St. Augustine Saints to three consecutive undefeated City - Western League seasons and a combined record of 72-26.

This past summer, Bailes shined on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit with Gamepoint AAU, earning a spot on the 3SSB All-Breakout Team and Third Team All-Circuit honors after averaging 16.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

He carried that momentum into his summer debut with JSerra, highlighted by a 31-point, 6-rebound, 3-assist, 2-steal performance in the Cali Live Championship win over Redondo Union High School.

Athleticism runs in the Bailes family—his father, Jonathan, played football at San Diego State University, while his mother, Jennifer, was a standout basketball player for the Aztecs.

Bailes becomes the first addition to Seattle U’s signing class of 2026 and he will join the Redhawks for their second year in the West Coast Conference.
