SEATTLE - Behind an offensive explosion, Seattle U women's soccer defeated Pacific, 6-0, Wednesday at Championship Field. Five different Redhawks scored, including a brace from Marla Gaudlitz, as the Redhawks secured win number one in the West Coast Conference.

The dynamic duo of Caroline Penner and U'i Kaaihue got the scoring party started in the 11th minute, when the two strung together five passes between themselves before Penner sent home her 8th goal of the season.

Both of Penner and Kaaihue would be involved in the second Redhawk goal as well, with both helping set up a Gaudlitz finish in the 25th. It was the third straight game with a goal for Gaudlitz, who also secured a brace with a goal in the 57th.

Kyla Schuster would get in on the first half action with her second of the season coming in the 27th, her second on the campaign. Penner would also set the Schuster goal up, giving her a four-point night and keeping her in 1st place in the conference in both goals and points.

Following Gaudlitz's second goal of the night, Zoe Hopkins and Bella Bonnett would both get on the board in the 64th and 81st respectively during the second half. The six Redhawk goals was the most scored by the program since they put up seven in a win over Evergreen State back in 2022.

Kassidy Kirgan picked up her 25th career win in net, making five saves on the night. She did not get credited with a shutout however, as sophomore Rachael Remnet finished off the final 13 minutes of the match in her first collegiate appearance.

The victory moved the Redhawks to 5-2-5 on the season and to 1-2-1 in WCC play. They will look to string together victories in their new conference when they host Saint Mary's on Saturday, Oct. 11. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Gaels is scheduled for 6:00pm PT at Championship Field.
