STOCKTON, Calif. - Seattle U wrapped up the PAC Invite hosted by Pacific on Saturday, with the women's team finishing 3rd and the men's team finishing 4th. In all, the Redhawks took home four first place finishes and added five new entries to the program's top 10 in the first meet of the 2025-26 season.
"We are thrilled with how this meet went to open the season," Head Coach Joe Dykstra said post meet. "The energy, focus, and enthusiasm was as good as we’ve had."
On the men's side, Brendan Ryan and Keanu Lee both took home first place finishes. Ryan finished first in the 100 IM (51.52) and 200 Breast (2:03.35). Lee's victory came in the 200 Fly where he finished with a time of 1:51.92.
Also securing first was the 400 Medley Relay team of Kvederis, Ryan, Lewis, and Wendt who finished at 3:21.43.
Ryan Cesmat improved his ranking in the program top 10 when he moved into 5th all-time with a finish of 52.26 in the 100 IM, also placing 3rd in the event. Freshman Owen Collins also cracked the top 10 in the 100 IM as he finished 6th at 53.60 and earned the 10th all-time slot.
The women's team was led by a pair of outstanding performances from freshman Samantha Cazares and Lila McGeachy. Cazares finished 2nd in the in the 100 IM and leaped into 4th all-time in program history at 59.42. McGeachy etched her name into the record book twice in one event, as she finished 2nd in the 1650 Free at 17:35.18. Her time placed her 7th all-time while her 1000 split of 10:38.80 is good for 9th all-time.
"Performance wise this was the best unrested, non-tech suit meet we’ve had in my 3+ years here," Dykstra added. "Proud of the swimmers and excited to keep getting better through the fall portion of our schedule."
