REDHAWK HEADLINES
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Tigers. Men’s soccer was added to Pacific prior to the start of the 2014 season.
REDHAWKS FIGHT TO DRAW IN WCC OPENER
Seattle U battled to a draw with Saint Mary’s, 1-1, last Saturday in their inaugural WCC match. After River Stewart scored one of the fastest goals in program history, netting the opener 48 seconds into the match, the Redhawks couldn’t find a second on the night. That would prove costly as a late penalty conversion by the Gaels sent both teams home with a point.
DEFENSE STEPPING UP
The Redhawks have had a shutout in four of their last seven matches, and in two of their last four. It has been an even split on home and away clean sheets this season.
HOME COOKING
Seattle U is 13-3-3 at home during the Nate Daligcon era (2023-pres.). They have not lost more than one game at home in any single season since 2023.
FROM THE WAC TO THE WCC
The 2025 season will be the first for the Redhawks in the West Coast Conference after spending the last 13 in the Western Athletic Conference. Seattle U won a combined 10 conference championships between regular season and tournament, and posted a record of 83-19-14 during their time in the WAC. Their win total and conference championships are both conference records.
THE RIVER IS FLOWING
River Stewart has scored or assisted in four straight games, including last week’s goal within the first minute of the match. His current form has propelled him into second on the team in points at six.
ZULUAGA IN THE RANKINGS
Yeider Zuluaga ranks top 2 in the WCC for goals (5), assists (5), and points (15). The goals and assists tie single-season career highs for the forward, while the 15 points is a new career high.
LANPHIER’S GLOVE WORK
Goalkeeper Charlie Lanphier leads the WCC in saves with 37 and is tied for second in clean sheets with four. His 14 career shutouts rank 4th all-time in program history, and he sits five away from tying Shane Haworth (2011-15) for the program lead.
4th FOR THE NEWCOMERS
Seattle U came in a tie for 4th place in the Preseason WCC Coaches Poll, level with San Francisco. San Diego, last season’s conference winner, was picked 1st, followed by Oregon State and Portland. The Redhawks also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 preseason poll.
