SAN FRANCISCO - Seattle U women's soccer took care of business on the road, defeating San Francisco, 2-1, Saturday night. U'i Kaaihue netted a first half brace and the defense held off a Don comeback bid as the Redhawks secured their third straight victory.

Kaaihue got the Redhawks on the board in the 12th minute when she had a top play quality back heel goal off a cross from Kailee Wilson. She would add another on a penalty kick in the 24th, slotting the ball home to the left as she sent the Don's keeper the wrong direction.

The first half brace brought Kaaihue's goal total to six on the season, with five of her goals coming in the last five matches. The recent form has also catapulted her into third in the WCC for goals, only trailing Julia Quinonez of Pepperdine and her teammate Caroline Penner.

Seattle U would not keep their two-goal advantage into the break, as San Francisco took advantage of a defensive lapse in the 31st to close the gap. That would be the only mistake for the Redhawks on the night however, as Kassidy Kirgan and the backline absorbed eight second half Don shots and secured the road victory.

The victory moved the Redhawks to 7-2-5 on the season and to 3-2-1 in conference play. After suffering losses in their first two matches in the WCC, Seattle U is now on an unbeaten run of four and they have outscored their opponents 13-4 in that stretch.

The Redhawks will now return home for a meeting with their I-5 rivals in Portland on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Pilots is scheduled for 7:00pm PT.
