LAST TIME OUT
Seattle U was in a shootout with their in-state rival Gonzaga on Wednesday, with the match ending in a 3-3 draw. The Redhawks led by as many as two goals courtesy of a hat trick from Yeider Zuluaga but conceded two goals in the final 20 minutes of play as they were credited with their second WCC tie.
HIGH FLYING ATTACK
The Redhawks rank second in the WCC for goals in conference play with eight. They rank 4th overall with 23 and are 3rd on GFA at 1.92.
FROM THE WAC TO THE WCC
The 2025 season will be the first for the Redhawks in the West Coast Conference after spending the last 13 in the Western Athletic Conference. Seattle U won a combined 10 conference championships between regular season and tournament, and posted a record of 83-19-14 during their time in the WAC. Their win total and conference championships are both conference records.
HATS OFF FOR YEIDER
Yeider Zuluaga scored his first collegiate hat trick in Wednesday’s 3-3 draw with Gonzaga. The performance brought his goal total to nine on the season, moving him into a tie with Oregon State’s Arnau Farnos for the conference lead. The two are also tied for the lead in points with 23.
EVERYONE INVOLVED
11 different Redhawks have found the back of the net in 2025, including five from players new to the program this season. Yeider Zuluaga, Lars Thorne-Thomsen, and River Stewart are the only multi-goal contributors to this point.
LANPHIER CHASING ADACHI
Charlie Lanphier is just four wins away from tying Josh Adachi for 4th all-time in program history for career goalkeeper wins at 28. He also ranks 5th all-time in career saves at 133.
THORNE-THOMSEN BREAKOUT SEASON
After having no goals in his first three seasons, Lars Thorne-Thomsen has scored three times during his senior campaign. His six points is also tied for second on the team this season.
4th FOR THE NEWCOMERS
Seattle U came in a tie for 4th place in the Preseason WCC Coaches Poll, level with San Francisco. San Diego, last season’s conference winner, was picked 1st, followed by Oregon State and Portland. The Redhawks also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 preseason poll.
