SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Seattle U women's soccer midfielder Marla Gaudlitz was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Gaudlitz recorded two goals and added an assist in a 2-0 week for the Redhawks.
"Marla’s impact on the field is very noticeable," said Head Coach Julie Woodward of her midfielder. "Her quiet strength, composure under pressure, great vision and soccer intelligence make her a very special player."
Gaudlitz opened her week with a brace in the Redhawks 6-0 win over Pacific on Wednesday. It was the second brace in the senior's collegiate career and helped lift them to their first win in the WCC. She followed that performance up with an assist in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Saint Mary's, capping a five-point week.

"She has been extremely consistent in her play and has a tremendous ability to score goals as well as setting her teammates up," Woodward added. "She is very deserving of player of the week."
Gaudlitz joins teammate Caroline Penner as recipients of the weekly conference player honor, with Penner also winning on the offensive side in the week ending on 9/14.
Seattle U is back in action this Saturday, Oct. 18, when they hit the road to face San Francisco. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Dons is scheduled for 6:00pm PT.
