SEATTLE - Seattle U women's soccer picked up their second straight home conference win, taking down Saint Mary's, 2-0, Saturday night at Championship Field. U'i Kaaihue and Zoe Hopkins both scored as the Redhawk defense kept previously WCC unbeaten Gaels off the board in the victory.

It was the third goal in four games for Kaaihue, who scored the match opener in the 24th minute off assists from Kyla Schuster and Kailee Wilson. The set up was also a team-leading fifth assist for Schuster, which ranks second in the conference this season.

Wilson would not be done on the assisting end, being first in line for a combination that included Marla Gaudlitz and a Zoe Hopkins goal in the 80th. It was back-to-back games with a goal for Hopkins and the fifth point in two games for Gaudlitz.

Not lost in the attack was another shut down performance from the Redhawk backline and Kassidy Kirgan. The Gaels were limited to just three shots of goal, all saved by Kirgan, as they pitched their second conference shutout in a row.

The win moved the Redhawks to 6-2-5 on the year and to 2-2-1 in conference play. They also kept their perfect record vs Saint Mary's attached, now 3-0 all-time in the series.

Seattle U will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 18, when they travel to San Francisco to take on the Dons.
