SEATTLE - The first competition of the spring season is here for the Seattle University Redhawks. It will be a road trip to Litchfield Park, Arizona as the Redhawks take part in the Wigwam Preview hosted by Utah Valley State. The Wigwam Preview will take place over three days, beginning on February 2.

Seattle University is one of nine teams competing at the Wigwam Preview, which will take place at Wigwam Resort. Along with host Utah Valley, the Redhawks will compete against British Columbia, Southern Utah, Idaho State, Utah Tech, California Baptist, Tarleton State, and Texas Arlington.

Rivekka Jumagulova, Tsara Ralamboarison, Annika Cruz, Jeanne Padillo, Aaryanna Morris, and Melissa Gilloz will be competing this week for the Redhawks, with Gilloz competing as an individual. The fivesome of Jumagulova, Ralamboarison, Cruz, Padillo, and Morris competed at every tournament in the fall season. Each of them had at least one top-20 finish in that time, led by Jumagulova (1st, twice) and Ralamboarison (4th). Jumagulova (67) and Ralamboarison (68) have Seattle U's lowest individual-round scores thus far this season as well.

The Redhawks will hope to carry momentum from a strong fall season into the spring. Seattle University won its final competition of fall, the Portland State Invitational, and finished no worse than third in its last three competitions. In addition to the team win at the Portland State Invitational, Jumagulova won two individual titles, at the Portland State Invitational and the Harbottle Invitational. Seattle University set new program records for team (-9) and individual (-13) in the fall season as well.

This will be Seattle University's first time competing at the Wigwam Resort. Last year, the Redhawks competed four times in Arizona, winning two of those competitions. That included the WAC championship, the first in Redhawk program history. The Redhawks also won the Red Rocks Invitational and finished second at the Bobcat Desert Classic, both hosted in Arizona, last season.
