SEATTLE - Seattle U men's soccer capped off their non-conference schedule with a win over Denver, 3-0, Monday night at Championship Field. The Redhawks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they picked up their first ever win over the Pioneers.

The first two goals of the match came in the first half and came off the feet of two first time Redhawk goal scorers. Cooper Brunell netted the opener just over three minutes into the game and Aidan Fong followed him 10 minutes later as the Redhawks quickly built up a two-goal lead.

Seattle U would take their two-goal lead into the break but would be on the back foot as the second half opened with a flurry of Denver attacks. Despite the pressure, the Redhawks did not bend as the defense kept the Pioneers off the board. Charlie Lanphier would make six saves on his way to win number 23 and shutout number 14 of his career.

Nico Wiskel would put a bow on the impressive home win when he and Yeider Zuluaga connected on a counterattack in the 89th minute, opening the stat sheet for Wiskel in 2025. It was also the second assist of the night for Zuluaga, who helped set up the Brunell goal in the first half, giving him a conference leading five assists on the season.

The victory moved the Redhawks to 2-3-3 on the season and wrapped up their non-conference schedule.

Seattle U will be back in action when they open their inaugural season in the West Coast Conference on the road at Saint Mary's on Saturday, Sep. 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm PT vs the Gaels.
