SEATTLE - A familiar face with Western Athletic Conference ties will compete with Seattle U women’s basketball this upcoming season as graduate forward Andjela Bigovic joins the Redhawk roster from Tarleton State, as announced by head coach Skyler Young.

Bigovic began her collegiate career at Cochise College, where she helped guide the program to a NJCAA Women’s Basketball Championship at large-berth. Cochise would advance to the second round that year after collecting 28 wins on the season.

The Herceg Novi, Montenegro native made her debut with the Texans in 2023-24, appearing in 24 games, including six starts. She posted 135 points, 89 rebounds and 29 assists in her first season in Stephenville. That year she earned one of the conference’s weekly awards, locking up the WAC’s Newcomer of the Week following her first double-double, recording 12 points and 16 rebounds.

In her senior season, Bigovic followed up with a career season high 10 steals, playing in 29 games and garnering 12 starts while connecting for 13 triples. In her time in Stephenville, she averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds a game while shooting 35.5 percent from the floor.

This past season, Bigovic helped guide the Texans to a 20-14 record on the year and a 10-6 record in WAC play. Tarleton State moved to the WAC Tournament’s semifinal after defeating Southern Utah, for its first conference final four. The Texans would go on to host Lindenwood in the second round of the WNIT having finished second place in the WAC this year.

This past winter, Bigovic was elected to the All-Academic All-WAC team.

Prior to competing in collegiate basketball in the United States, Bigovic competed for Buducnost Bemax in the Women’s Adriatic Basketball Association. While there, she helped lead her team to two league championships, while pushing them towards five straight Montenegrin Cups.
