SEATTLE - Joining the Seattle U volleyball program ahead of the 2025 season, Brenna Berkimer will lend her expansive coaching profile to the Redhawks serving as an assistant coach, as announced by head coach Dan Behnke.

A native of Lake Tapps, Washington, Berkimer began her coaching career following four seasons with the Whitworth volleyball program. While with the Pirates, Berkimer (formerly Bruil), was tabbed All-NWC for three straight seasons, capping her senior year with an All-NWC second team recognition. In conference play, she led the league in hitting percentage in her final season, averaging 2.5 kills per set. In her sophomore year, she also earned second team honors.

The middle blocker earned six starts in the debut season in 2013. Out of high school, Berkimer was named Tacoma News Tribune Player of the Year and MVP of the South Puget Sound League.

Upon graduating with her degree in business management, Berkimer pursued coaching as a graduate assistant with Whitworth in 2017. In 2019, she was elevated to an assistant coach and the program’s primary recruiting coordinator.

Berkimer will operate in multiple areas to enhance team function while assisting various position groups.
