SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball Head Coach Chris Victor announced the addition of 6-2 guard Jojo Murphy for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Murphy, an Oakland, Calif., native, spent his first three collegiate seasons at Chico State, earning California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Freshman of the Year and First Team All-CCAA honors in 2022-23 and capping his junior season by earning CCAA Player of the Year honors along with his second First Team All-CCAA honor.

He averaged a league best 20.7 ppg to go with 4.7 rpg, 4.0 apg and 1.5 spg while shooting 47% from the field and nearly 39% from three (73-189) as the Wildcats went 24-7 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. In three seasons at Chico State, Murphy scored 1,195 points to go with 231 rebounds, 219 assists and 95 steals.

A 2022 graduate of Piedmont High School, Murphy led the Highlanders to the 2019-20 CIF North Coast Section Division 4 Championship. He averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game as a senior to earn 2022 co-West Alameda County Conference-Foothill League Most Valuable Player honors. A two-time All-League selection, Murphy was also named 2021 San Francisco Chronicle East Bay Player of the Year and 2021 West Coast Preps Athlete of the Year. He finished his high school career with a school-record 1,400 points.

Murphy marks the fourth 2025-26 Redhawk signee. He joins Gonzaga transfer Junseok Yeo, City College of San Francisco standout Miles Amos and Southern Utah transfer Brock Felder as the newest members of the Redhawk squad.
