SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Seattle U volleyball takes its first step into the West Coast Conference, officially announcing its debut conference slate in tandem with the league this morning.
Spanning from the end of September through late November, the Redhawks split 18 contests with new conference foe, starting with a two match stint in Southern California (LMU and Pepperdine). They travel to Portland, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, Pacific, Washington State before wrapping the regular season in the Bay Area with San Francisco and Santa Clara.
Seattle U welcomes Washington State for its first home conference match at the Redhawk Center on October 2. The Redhawks host Pepperdine, San Diego, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Portland, before concluding their home schedule hosting both Gonzaga and Oregon State.
Fellow Washington natives Gonzaga and Washington State will share home-aways with the Redhawks, while the I-5 Rivalry with Portland adopts new meaning with conference implications in their shared home-away. The league's greater Bay Area schools (Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and San Francisco) and Pepperdine also host and travel to Seattle U this season. San Diego, Pacific, LMU and Oregon State are the lone quartet the Redhawks will play once.
SU makes its official transition to the WCC on July 1 having accepted its invitation to its flagship conference in May 2024. Tickets and times will be released along with the full schedule at a later date.
