ARLINGTON, TX - Seattle U baseball sophomore Kenny Ishikawa was named to the 2025 All-WAC First Team, as announced by the league on Monday.
"Kenny is the most dynamic player we have had here at Seattle U since baseball got reinstated in 2010," head coach Donny Harrel said of his standout utility player. "He competes with so much enthusiasm and plays with a joy and passion that seems to be seldom seen anymore at the highest levels of sport."
Kenny dominated at the plate and on the mound this season for the Redhawks. He led the team in batting average, OPS, and slugging while leading the conference and setting a program single-season record with 23 doubles. While pitching, he finished second on the team and top 10 in conference with a 4.21 ERA, while picking up five wins and a save over 66.1 IP.
"This is a young man who hits in our leadoff spot and hits for both average and power," coach Harrel added. "Kenny plays a tremendous outfield and then can simply come into a game and throw a fastball at 90 mph. Kenny is also an amazing human being and done very well in the classroom as well, after adjusting to our language and culture. We are blessed to have him as a Redhawk and I cannot wait to see how he improves next season, now that he is used to Division 1 baseball."
He is the first Redhawk to be named First Team All-Conference since 2016, where SU had five selections during a conference championship year.
