SEATTLE - With the regular season in the rear view, the Seattle University Redhawks head to Litchfield Park, Arizona to defend their 2023-24 conference title at the Western Athletic Conference Championships. This year's WAC Championships will be held at the Wigwam Golf Course beginning April 14.

This will be the second time this year that the Redhawks have competed at the Wigwam Golf Course, having also done so in February for the Wigwam Preview. There, Rivekka Jumagulova finished tied for third with a score of +4 across 54 holes at that competition. Tsara Ralamboarison also finished in the top 15, taking 12th with a score of +9.

Last season, the Redhawks took home their first-ever WAC title at the 2023-24 WAC Championships, held in Payson, Arizona. Seattle U took the title by two strokes, finishing at +40. Jumagulova, Aaryanna Morris, and Annika Cruz all finished in the top ten. Jumagulova shot +11 to take sixth, while Morris and Cruz each shot +12 over 54 holes. Ralamboarison finished 13th at +14, while Shayna Lu took 27th with a 54-hole score of +18.

The Redhawks enter this year's championship playing well. Jumagulova has had just one round worse than a 74 over the last 21, with just two rounds all year worse than a 74: a +4 over, 76 in the season-opening Leadership & Golf Invitational and a +6 over, 78 at the Chevron Silverado Showdown.

Cruz enters the WAC Championships with eight of her last nine rounds at or below 76. That includes a season-best -3 under, 69 from the Causeway Invitational.

Jeanne Padillo will begin her first WAC Championships after earning WAC Golfer of the Week two weeks ago. She has shot par or below three times over the last two competitions.

The NCAA Regionals will follow the WAC Championships. Should the Redhawks qualify, the Regionals will begin May 5.
