SEATTLE - Seattle U softball (23-14, 8-4 WAC) bounced back into the win column following a day of hot hitting, downing California Baptist (17-22, 5-7 WAC) 8-5 in the series finale at Logan Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Redhawks combined for 14 hits, eight runs and eight RBI to secure their eighth conference win of the season.

Sophomore Mikee Morris tied the single game record of hits in a game, recording four on the afternoon in four at bats. She is the first Redhawk to do so since the 2023 season and the 13th ever to record four hits in a contest for SU. Two of the four hits went for extra bases as she grabbed two doubles and two runs on the day.

In addition to Morris, four more Redhawks had double digit hitting affairs. Graduate Jasmine Wehn collected two hits, one going for a double, and two RBI in three at bats. She scored a run and led all Redhawks with four putouts. Sophomore Avari Morris also recorded two hits, including a double, and two RBI in four at bats.

Sophomore Karen Spadafora recorded two hits and an RBI in four at bats, while freshman Bella Ely rounded out the group with two hits and a run in three at bats. Senior Tai Wilson matched Wehn and Avari Morris with two RBI, while picking up a hit and two runs.

Senior Naomi Chaidez earned the start from the circle, pitching for 1.1 innings. She faced 11 batters and struck out one, while allowing five hits and three runs. Sophomore Berkley Vance pitched the remaining 5.2 innings en route to her seventh win of the season. She faced 25 batters while collecting two strikeouts, allowing eight hits and two runs.

CBU struck first to open the game, scoring three runs off of four hits before junior Taylor Fitch locked up the final out in the top of the first. Mikee Morris led off with a double before taking advantage of the CBU error to move to third. Fitch recorded the RBI single to get the Redhawks on board in the bottom of the first. Wehn followed suit with a 2 RBI double to even the game at 3-all with no outs. An RBI single from Spadafora drew in Wehn to give SU its first lead of the series 4-3 at the end of the first.

The Redhawks followed up the fruitful inning with a two run inning in the bottom of the second. Mikee Morris and Wilson both got on base with singles, while Morris moved to third on a throwing error and Wilson stole second to get two in scoring position. After Wehn was walked to load the bases, Avari Morris doubled to left center field to score both Mikee and Wilson to jump out to a 6-3 lead at the end of the second.

A runner miscue allowed the Redhawks to capitalize two outs on CBU's third batter in the third to keep them at 3 runs after three innings. Singles from Ely and Mikee got runners on for the Redhawks before Wilson grounded out to score Ely in the bottom of the third.

Holding the 7-3 edge, neither team scored in the fourth inning despite getting runners on. In the bottom of the fifth, both Ely and Mikee collected hits, while sophomore Sophia Kissling reached on a fielder's choice. Mikee's double allowed Kissling to move into third facing one out. Wilson scored Kissling off the sacrifice fly to build the Redhawks' largest lead 8-3 at the end of five innings.

Both teams were held scoreless in the sixth, while Vance picked up her strikeout. With a lot of ground to cover, CBU struck for two runs off a 2 RBI homer out of center field, but freshman Camryn Johnson iced the game, collecting the final two outs in right field to grab the 8-5 victory for the Redhawks.

Seattle U returns to action next week, traveling to Grand Canyon for a three game series in Phoenix as the pair battle for the top of the WAC standings.
