SEATTLE – Senior Day is next on the docket for the Seattle University Redhawks, who play host to Eastern Washington on April 6 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center. Seattle U will be honoring Liliya Dimova and Jade Quintana after their stellar Redhawk careers as the two seniors on the roster.
The Eastern Washington dual match will mark the end of the regular season, as the Redhawks head from there to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, beginning April 17 in Arlington, Texas.
The Redhawks enter this weekend fresh off a 1-1 road trip to Phoenix. There, Seattle U picked up a commanding 5-2 win over Utah Tech. Dimova, Lamija Avdic, Natalia Michta, and Larissa Teramura all won singles matches for the Redhawks. The duos of Avdic/Michta and Lola Tavcar/Dimova clinched the doubles point.
The Redhawks have faced off in dual matches with Eastern Washington three times over the last three years. Last season, Seattle U earned a 4-3 win over Eastern Washington. Current Redhawks Avdic and Dimova earned singles points on courts two and three.
In 2022-23, the Redhawks went 1-1 against Eastern Washington, winning 4-3 and losing 2-5. Dimova earned two singles wins and a doubles win in those two matches. Quintana also earned a singles and doubles win. Tavcar had doubles wins in each of those matches.
Over the last three years, Seattle U is 2-1 in Senior Day competitions. Last season's Senior Day was a 4-3 win over Utah tech, highlighted by singles wins from Avdic, Dimova, and Tavcar.
