SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball Head Coach Chris Victor has announced the signing of 6-8 forward Junseok Yeo for the 2025-26 season. Yeo, who spent the past two seasons at Gonzaga, joins the Redhawks as a senior.
Regarded as the only active Division I men's basketball player from South Korea in 2024-25, Yeo appeared in 39 games, averaging 2.1 points and 1.0 rebound in six minutes per game over two seasons for the Zags. This past season, he logged a season-high 10 minutes versus Pepperdine on Feb. 15 and scored a season high eight points (on 3-4 FGs) on Nov. 15 against UMass Lowell. Yeo shot better than 44% from the field in his two seasons at Gonzaga.
Yeo attended Korea University in Seoul, South Korea before transferring to Gonzaga in the spring of 2023. He attended the NBA Global Academy in Australia, before graduating from Yongsan High School in Seoul. At the 2021 FIBA U-19 World Cup in Latvia, he averaged a tournament-high 25.6 points per game, while grabbing 10.6 rebounds per outing, which ranked second in the event.
Yeo helped Korea's senior national team qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021, averaging 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in the three games in his senior national team debut.
Yeo played at the FIBA U18 Asian Championship 2018 and averaged 16.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.8 blocks despite being two years younger than the rest of the competition. He also participated in the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp in 2020 and played with the Australian Centre of Excellence in 2019 at the NBA Academy Games.
At Yongsan High School, Yeo guided his team to the Korean high school national title.
